YAGUARCOCHA PADDLE BOATS

Destination: Yaguarcocha / Transportation: $.25 bus / Paddle boats: $4 for 30 min.

My husband and I thought it would be a good idea to
rent a paddle boat on the lagoon outside of Ibarra.
We were right. It was a good idea.

The only thing we were wrong about was the weather -
a mighty wind pushed against us the entire time.
We had to paddle so hard in our gigantic dragon boat
that by the end we thought we'd be stranded in the middle of
the lagoon, and prayed for a motor boat to tug us in.

We paddled for probably a good 45 minutes, much of the time
not moving at all and feeling rather hopeless. The wind was VERY strong, people.
Our quads were so wiggly and jello-y from paddling so hard,
by the time we finally made it to the docks
we were totally over the paddle boat excursion and breathing in huffs.

BUT...that's not to say we didn't have a good time - good time we had.
Next time, we're going when there's no wind.
AND we're picking a smaller boat.
