TRAVELING IN FASHION - HAIR

HAIR HAIR HAIR!
Sometimes we love it! Most of the time we hate it!

It never does what you want when you need it to -
hair is just one of those things where
it always seems we want what we don't have.

Curly, straight, blond, red, brown, highlights or no highlights...
grow it out, cut it off... are women ever satisfied?
As photographed above, we've got some wild hair.
It can be pretty, I promise.

When we travel to Central and South America,
we like to add a little sum sumthin' special...HAIR WRAPS!
I (Kylie) got a beautiful multi-colored hair wrap
with some sea shells on the end when I was in Costa Rica for $12.
I thought that was a pretty snazzy deal until I went to Peru.
Here in Cusco I found a darling little lady in a shop hidden in the alleys near San Blas, just outside the Plaza de Armas. You can't miss it. She's real real real cute.
I popped in there and with the help of a friend, got myself a hair wrap.
If you want a bead or seed on the end, they charge 15 soles (about $6 ).
If you are feelin' funky you can get feathers for 20 soles (about $8).
You can choose any and as many colors as you want!
In 15 minutes VOILA! You've got a hair wrap.
I liked my first one so much I went back and got a second. Yep - two hair wraps.
One of the wraps I opted to keep the hair inside - meaning she braided the hemp AROUND my hair. The only downer about that is all the hairs that stick out.
Second round, I did the hair chop which changes the design to look super rad.
Megan, triplet #3, backpacked Central America for one month
and got a hair wrap AND a braided weave.
Her colorful hair wrap included five colors of her choice and sea shells.
A friendly dude from Panama put it in for about $8
while she watched the sun set right at this beach in San Juan, Nicaragua.
Megan was also debating dread locks, but opted for micro braids instead
when she met these two beautiful ladies in Copan, Honduras.
They spent about four hours sitting on the curb of a dark street
during a power outage braiding.
$20 well spent for a travel friendly hair-do!

If you want something pretty in your hair while traveling, don't be afraid to ask.
There's always someone who is willing and you'll go home with a fun souvenir.
