FREAKY FRIDAY

this is me (megan) at 18 years old.
i know, i don't look that different. ha!
at this time in my life i was just learning how to drive.
all throughout high school lisa was the alpha triplet.
she drove us to school, to work, to soccer games, school events, friends houses- everywhere.
lisa got her drivers license when she was 15. normal age, right?
for some reason brothers deemed her most responsible and she earned her rights to drive first.
then kylie was next in line not too far behind lisa.
why oh why did i have to wait another 3 years?
i seemed to have been forgotten until the day i got accepted into college.
then that got me thinkin'.
it was time for me to get my drivers license.
so i signed up for private driver's ed as an embarrassed 18 year old fresh out of high school.
then suddenly i was in college with a drivers license without the faintest idea of how to be independent.
i couldn't find walmart and had to ask lisa how to fill up the gas tank.
thanks mom and dad, for giving me extra time to grow up.
i must be special.

  1. hi travelling triplets! I love reading about travels and i so love love travelling myself! My husband and I met and lived in Shanghai for 4 years before moving back to the States. I'm from Singapore and I love travelling, especially around the South East Asian region because it's relatively easy and cheap to travel there. Now that i'm in the States I want to try and visit as many states as i possibly can, and hopefully some parts of South America!

But what i'm most excited to tell you is that I HAVE a set of triplets for sisters! i'm not part of the trips, but they're 5 yrs younger and growing up with them was a riot! i wish i had the opportunity to travel with them, but I'm just blessed to be able to see so many places in my life.

    Have a blast travelling!

  5. i can totally relate, megan. every other kid in my family started driving when they were 14...except me. my parents never taught me how, and made me take extensive driver's ed courses until i was almost 17! i've been deemed a "terrible driver" by them all, but they only have themselves to blame! ha ha

  7. Ha! I didn't get my license until I was 21. It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but why hold anything back? I failed my driving test three times! ha! I think I am a fine driver now, but I still hate filling up with gas and will gladly let Mike drive every single time.

  8. Hahaa -- that seriously sounds JUST like me. I signed up for private drivers ed and was MORTIFIED every time I had to drive with little 15 year olds in the back seat. Oooh, but then you look back and who cares?! :)
