Hello! Welcome to the Philippines!
Today we have been greeted by many with the few English words they know or just a huge smile. I cannot tell you how welcome we feel.
We only get to be here one day, and tomorrow we head to Hong Kong to spend the next few weeks in China. We are so thankful to be here and are stoked to explore this side of the world.

So now to that list of things I am thankful for today:

-the warm sockies, sleeping mask, and blanket for the long chilly plane ride over here
-two delicious meals on the plane and the hot towel!
-movies that make me cry
-hot 80 degree weather
-the cute little giggly girls and boy we met on the street
-the smiles from strangers and many, "hello, take my picture!"
-the taxi driver named June who didn't know a lick of English so he just smiled kindly at us and said, "Merry Christmas!"
-the random high five from friendly old hotel man
-a hand to hold in unfamiliar places, especially among complete CHAOS
-we found crispy m&ms... and I thought they didn't make them anymore, lies.
Traveling truly does open your eyes. In the states we really are wealthy. Thank you Philippines for reminding me of all the reasons I have to smile. In less than 24 hours, you showed me that happiness. Also, please pray for those in Japan suffering from the huge "tidal wave" as they are saying over here. Goodnight!
